Overnight tried reset system. disconnected battery for 1 hour, reconnected, no warning light. started engine, after 30 seconds warning light re-appeared with message "antipollution fault". Nothing else seems affected, still have power etc. Question will continuing to run the car have a detrimental affect, I have upward of 1000 miles to travel

I've got a 51 plate 307 with the same problem and anti air pollution and then the engine management light comes on and it's very sluggish I found that if I unplug the wires out of the air filter it solves the problem but will this cause any other problems in the future I'm not sure. At least I'm not alone - I too am now suffering from anti pollution fault grief with a Citroen C4 VTR Coupe 1.6 2005, 53000 miles. A couple of weeks ago it suffered from a sudden loss of power whilst driving along; sounded awful, was vibrating heavily, and would not go over 10mph.
More fault warnings came.-Braking system faulty-ABS Braking system faulty - ESP/ASR faulty-Parking brake faulty-Gearbox faulty and beeping sound. When gearbox fault came I lost speed display ,limited speed. Took it local Citroen dealer today. They said: CARRIED OUT GLOBAL TEST .REMADE WIRING CONNECTIONS TO UNDER BONNET FUSE BOX ,CLEARED FAULT
This time after 183Km. "Risk of particle filter blocking" along with a service light, a blinking engine light and this time a "Anti-pollution" fault message. 10Km down the road everything disappeared, but this time I drove to the shop to put it on Lexia. There were 2 faults, a P0420 and an internal ECU fault.

I managed to get it started again but to my suprise the car wouldnt go any faster than 7mph! I managed to crawl to the nearest parking space and left it there. Since the first time the engine cut, everytime I start the eniging there is a beep, the service light comes on and stays then the LCD screen reports an anti pollution fault.

Try running the car with the MAF unplugged. It will show a MIL light, but chances are the performance will be greatly improved.
