🌦️ Apple Watch Cellular Vs Gps Reddit
Worksgreat most of the time. Being completely on cellular (no wifi) can be spotty sometimes. Also, some apps that have a watch version will only work if the watch is paired with a phone (Spotify). If you're worried about giving such a nice thing to a 9 year old, there are other options for cellular watches (ie Gizmo).
Ifyou already have an Apple Watch and it's anything from the Series 6 onwards I'd say you're better off seeing if you can hang onto it for another year, as the Series 9 doesn't offer you that much more. If you're coming from a watch older than a Series 5 then yeah, I'd say it's worth an upgrade. GadgetronRatchet.

Id say stick with GPS. People got along fine for ages without having a cell phone attached to them everywhere they went so I figure going for a run without one isn't so bad. Yeah it's nice to have the peace of mind that if anything happens, you can get help with the device on your wrist, but only you can decide if that peace of mind is worth
Yes if you want value for your money. 3. [deleted] •. I think it is worth it because of the quality. You are on the safe side. It the bands are too expensive for you, then go with a knock off. You might be lucky and find one with a very good quality. 1.
Ifyou're exclusively looking to use the watch for running, I'd opt for a Garmin. If you're looking for a day-to-day smart watch, absolutely go for the Apple Watch. Apple claims 36 hours of battery life on the Ultra, and 18 on the Series 8 & SE. You absolutely won't have issues with the battery.

Ifyou don't absolutely need the cellular connectivity go for the non cellular version. Battery life better on non cell I think. Cellular is nice to have in a pinch. I will not buy a wifi only watch again. I was running one morning and I had to call 911 for someone.
Whenyou compare the two options for the Apple Watch Series 8, the stainless steel is around 10 grams heavier than the aluminum version, weighing 42.3 grams, compared to 32.2 grams for 41mm aluminum watch. If you don't like feeling the weight of your watch on your wrist, or if you have a smaller wrist in general, aluminum is the best
Onething to note is that the GPS only version is almost always about $100 cheaper than the Cellular version. That’s not even taken into account the fact that there are going to be associated with carrier
Abasic Garmin (e.g. FR35/45/55) is cheaper than any AW, has much better battery, and is ultimately much better as a sports watch (physical buttons, more stats, more fitness and sport-specific features and integrations). The Apple Watch is far and away the best smart watch on the market (if you have an iPhone), but if activity tracking is your
Gladto hear it helped! Your watch needs your phone nearby to work, so you’ll still need to bring your phone with you. I’d ignore the comment about the battery - unless you use it excessively usually one charge per day is fine. I don’t think the apple watches with cellular require a phone nearby.
